Si hay algo que nos gusta a los lectores de novelas de suspense, son los libros de detectives, misterio y crímenes, y esa adrenalina que nos aporta el intentar averiguar quién es el culpable.

Agatha Christie, Enid Blyton, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Edgar Allan Poe, Dashiel Hammet… estos son algunos nombres de grandes escritores clásicos que crearon ficciones que no podíamos parar de leer y personajes que han traspasado no sólo a la pantalla cinematográfica, sino a nuestros corazones y memoria.

Pero no sólo el siglo XIX y XX estuvo plagado de historias de crímenes de todo tipo, sino que hoy en día los libros de detectives están entre las novelas más leídas ya que, seamos sinceros, ¿quién no disfruta de un buen libro de asesinatos, crímenes imposibles de resolver, y una buena dosis de adrenalina mental?

En este blog, vamos a hacer una sección de reseñas, tanto de novelas como películas, y de sus autores e inspiraciones, y así poder recomendar a los amantes de este sector buenas novelas de ficción y películas de detectives, tanto de ficción como basadas en hechos reales.

Aquí va una breve introducción de los autores que trataremos y de sus grandes éxitos como escritores de novelas de misterios.

Si hay escritores de renombre en cuanto a libros de detectives, misterios y crímenes esos son Agatha Christie, Edgar Allan Poe y Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Agatha Christie fue una escritora inglesa famosa por libros como «Muerte en el Nilo», «Asesinato en el Orient Express» o «Diez negritos» y creadora de uno de los detectives de ficción más famosos, Hercules Poirot, el excéntrico detective privado belga que va resolviendo casos desde Londres a Egipto. También Agatha Christie le dio vida al personaje ficticio de Miss Marple, la entrañable señora inglesa que resuelve crímenes en la campiña del sur de Inglaterra.

Edgar Allan Poe fue un escritor estadounidense en la época del Romanticismo, a principios del siglo XIX, que destacaba, sobretodo, por sus relatos cortos de misterio y terror. Los más famosos son «Los crímenes de la calle Morgue» (1841) y «El corazón delator» (1843), entre otros.

Finalmente, resaltamos en esta introducción al mas que conocido creador del detective más famoso de todos los tiempos de libros de ficción, el inigualable detective de la calle Baker de Londres, Sherlock Holmes, al que le dio vida en 1887 el escritor inglés Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Si hay un personaje del que se han hecho múltiples historias, cientos de versiones y adaptaciones, y que nunca deja de sorprendernos, ese es Sherlock Holmes. Existe un famoso Club dedicado a este personaje que agrupa a miles de fans y del que hablaremos en otro post.

También comentaremos, entre otros, la obra de la escritora inglesa Enid Blyton, creadora de las novelas infantiles de «Los cinco», «Torres de Malory» o «Santa Clara», que se publicaron entre los años 30 y 60, y las obras de autores actuales que han conseguido ser publicados y traducidos en todo el mundo.

Here is a brief introduction to the authors we will discuss and their greatest successes as mystery novel writers.

If there are renowned writers when it comes to detective books, mysteries and crimes, those are Agatha Christie, Edgar Allan Poe and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Agatha Christie was an English writer famous for books such as «Death on the Nile», «Murder on the Orient Express» or «Ten little black boys» and creator of one of the most famous fictional detectives, Hercule Poirot, the eccentric Belgian private detective who he is solving cases from London to Egypt. Agatha Christie also gave life to the fictional character of Miss Marple, the endearing English lady who solves crimes in the countryside of southern England.

Edgar Allan Poe was an American writer at the time of Romanticism, at the beginning of the 19th century, who stood out, above all, for his short stories of mystery and terror. The most famous are «The crimes of Morgue Street» (1841) and «The tell-tale heart» (1843), among others.

Finally, we highlight in this introduction the more than well-known creator of the most famous detective of all time in fiction books, the incomparable detective of London’s Baker Street, Sherlock Holmes, who was brought to life in 1887 by the English writer Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. If there is a character who has been made multiple stories, hundreds of versions and adaptations, and who never ceases to amaze us, that is Sherlock Holmes. There is a famous Club dedicated to this character that brings together thousands of fans and we will talk about it in another post.
