A estos le informará de lo sucedido y les entregará todas las pruebas que hubiere obtenido.
También es importante recalcar que si una persona que no es detective investigara un caso estaría incurriendo en un delito. Para ser detective es necesario el TIP que lo acredita, y que es concedido por el Ministerio del Interior, ya que la Policía Nacional tiene un registro con todos los detectives privados en vigor en España. Si investigara un caso, este sería invalidado, y la persona responsable, imputada.
¿Y si un detective aún así investiga un asesinato?
Como detective debe mantener un registro de todos los casos que lleva. Así como los datos que esos datos tienen y los datos del cliente que contrata. Este libro se hace llegar a Policía Nacional, que es la encargada de revisar que todo es correcto.
Si un detective investigara un asesinato lo primero que podría suceder es que varias pruebas de este asesinato quedaran invalidadas, si este las ha manipulado para su propia investigación. Además de que complicaría el caso para las Fuerzas y Cuerpos de Seguridad del Estado, que son los encargados de la investigación.
