¿Recuerdan el fraude del CEO? Pues lo ocurrido en Emiratos Árabes deja las estafas por medio de la técnica del Business E-mail Compromise (BEC) o suplantación de identidad anteriores en un juego de niños. Según publicó Forbes y reproduce La Vanguardia, en enero de 2021 un grupo de estafadores utilizó técnicas de inteligencia artificial y deepfake para engañar a un empleado de banca y hacerle creer que estaba hablando con el directivo de una empresa cliente.
Una vez engañado sobre la identidad de su interlocutor, los estafadores consiguieron que transfiriera más de 35 millones USD a cuentas controladas por éstos, que desaparecieron casi de inmediato a través de una telaraña de cuentas en diversos países, imposibles de trazar.
¿Podría ocurrir esto en España?. Sinceramente… Sí. De hecho ya ha ocurrido sólo usando el e-mail. En todo caso, ¿recuerda aquello de cuando las barbas de tu vecino veas cortar…? Pues eso…
